THE GOLBY LAB

Golby Lab is a surgical brain mapping laboratory that utilizes fMRI technology to map the motor and language areas of the brain for use in the pre-operative evaluation of patients with brain tumors. The findings from this research shed light on how the brain is organized.

Golby Lab's logo employs the idea of brain mapping as a process of putting together a metaphorical "puzzle". The logo has been used in a varied of print and web media, including the lab's homepage, where the brain is part of a flash animation in which individual pieces float away from the brain puzzle and become hyperlinks to other web pages within the lab's website.
